胎球蛋白B（FETUB）是哺乳動物胎球蛋白家族的第二個成員，也被稱為胎球蛋白樣蛋白IRL685、16G2和Gugu，在肝臟和睪丸中表達，含有2個半胱氨酸蛋白酶抑制劑胎球蛋白-B型結構域。FETUB是卵子受精所需的蛋白酶抑制劑。FETUB還需要在受精前防止透明帶過早硬化，可能是通過抑制ASTL的蛋白酶活性，ASTL是一種介導ZP2切割并引發(fā)透明帶硬化的蛋白酶（通過相似性）。作為一種肝臟來源的血漿蛋白，FETUB對受精至關重要。
