2,3-Difluorophenol was used in the synthesis of material-poly{methyl[3-(2-hydroxy-3,4-difluoro)phenyl]propyl siloxane} (PMDFPS) sensitive to toxic organophosphate. | [Synthesis]
Step 1: In a 500 mL round-bottomed flask, dissolve 2,3-difluorophenylboronic acid (30 g, 189.98 mmol, 1.00 eq.) in dichloromethane (250 mL). Hydrogen peroxide (30 mL) was added slowly and dropwise under stirring conditions. The reaction mixture was stirred continuously at 25°C for 2 hours. Upon completion of the reaction, the reaction mixture was washed sequentially with water and saturated saline, the organic phase was dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and subsequently concentrated under reduced pressure to afford 2,3-difluorophenol 23 g (93% yield) as a brown oil. | [References]
