85 Synthesis of Compound 4

The solution of BBr₃(40 g, 160.0 mmol) in DCM (100 mL) was added dropwise to the solution of compound 3 (9 g, 40.9 mmol) in DCM (300 mL) at -60° C. After that the reaction mixture was warmed slowly to 0° C. and stirred for another 1 h. The reaction mixture was quenched with EtOH (10 ml) slowly at -60° C. The reaction mixture was washed with water, brine, dried over Na₂SO₄, concentrated to give compound 4 (8.8 g, 100% yield).
