GENERAL STEPS: 3,7-dibromodibenzo[b,d]thiophene-5,5-dioxide (48) was synthesized in 59% yield from 3,7-dibromodibenzo[b,d]thiophene (49) by a methodology reported in the literature (see Refs. H. Sirringhaus, R.H. Friend, C. Wang et al, J. Mater. Chem. , 1999, 9, 2095-2101). The product was characterized by 1H NMR (CDCl3): δ 7.97 (d, 2H), 7.96 (d, 2H), 7.56 (dd, 2H). | [References]
